I've also seen many laces in Brugge in Belgium, also nice, but very high price compared to laces in CS
and when I was little, there were many senior ladies in the country side who spent leisure time doing handwork for laces,needle by needle. Now it's not common because of low pay and dying skills. I visited the CHANGSHU LACE FACTORY in 2006 cozI I would like to bring sth typical Chinese to USA as an exchange student. The manager said that this factory is almost making no profit, and they r losing skilled workers, but still many pp choose to stay for preserving traditional art. PS: the host in Maryland told me three times that she really really like my gift.
